Profile and Background

The Insurance Administration Partnership was formed in 1976 to administer data for the insurance industry. Users of the service include Philips, Nokia, Mitsubishi and Martin Dawes among many others. Leading insurers including Sun Alliance, Norwich Winterthur; MG and Lloyds have all approved and underwritten schemes provided by the Insurance Administration Partnership.

During the late 1970’s the labour intensive administration was converted into an efficient computerised system, which utilised mainframe technology with Apple computers for data input Apple computers were the forerunners of the PC.

In 1986 Insurance Administration became the first specialist company to provide and administer Loss, Damage and Breakdown insurance cover for Cellular telephones, pagers and satellite receiving equipment. The computer system controlled in excess of 150,000 active insured customers who were paying premiums monthly, quarterly and annually. All sales, commissions~ policy issues, claims processing and monthly reports to insurance companies were handled by computer programs developed by our own in-house staff.

Our sales people sold insurance cover to Cellular telephone manufacturers, who in turn promoted the concept to their dealer network. For each insurance policy, commissions were paid to; our own salesman, the Cellular manufacturer, the Dealer company, and the Dealer’s salesman. Therefore, from 1986 onwards we had become involved in Multi-Level Marketing along with the associated commission tracking and payments.

Rapidly declining prices of Cellular telephones during the early 1990’s resulted in reduced turnover and profit for insurance cover, so we began looking for an alternative “core” business.

Using the experience and expertise gained within the insurance industry, the Partnership diversified into data administration mid multi-site communications and integration of operations in other industries. Bespoke computer programs were written for other companies where we were also involved in providing full data administration staff during the initial launch periods. Two examples being Secure and Provide Plc which achieved just over 8,000 Sales recruits within the first 8 weeks of trading, and Continental Television whose subscribers exceeded 200,000.

KWIK Hols Limited was specifically formed in 2000 to handle the ongoing business originally developed by the Insurance Administration Partnership.

At the request of an insurance customer, one area of diversification was the development in 1993 of a unique information service for travel agents, which provides prices and availability for “Late Availability” flights and package holidays.

KWIKdata (the original concept of a “late availability” database) has now evolved into a full one-stop information and technology system which is the largest daily updated travel information system in the UK and includes in excess of 2,000,000 flight and information records

To support the KWIK product range we have developed our own communications secure hosting system in Hull (which acts in a similar way to a Bulletin Board System, but allows access only to authorised users). This hosting system is used for distributing data to our travel industry subscribers and supporting our software clients whereby enhancements to a program can be implemented by modem link. Additionally, the hosting service provides our clients with a facility to store and backup their data off-site by using a modem link and our software.

KWIK is committed to the continual development and enhancement of our various services and products, whilst maintaining a personal approach and contact with our entire client base.

Particularly as we have rarely advertised our services and products, we are proud of the success achieved with each of our KWIK products and the continued growth which has been achieved entirely through personal recommendations from our happy and continually growing numbers of satisfied users.
