On the SE coast, the resort is effectively a suburb of Ibiza Town extending from » to 1 mile due S of the town centre. 3 miles NE of airport.

Position:
Separated from Ibiza town on the coastal front by a rock some 200 feet above sea level, the resort is on a steep incline at the N end which lessens towards the S, where it becomes almost flat. The entire area is built around a semicircular bay.

Description:
A completely built-up, holiday-orientated area extending back from the seafront some 300 yds towards the main road to Ibiza airport. An attractive promenade with pine trees passes round the bay on the seafront. The area has been passing out of fashion in recent years following the increased development of new style hotels at Playa d'en Bossa.

Suitability:
Middle to economy. Suitable for couples or singles, but children would have better holiday at Playa d'en Bossa.

Accommodation:
Range of hotels from 1-star to 4-stars but preponderance of apartment complexes.

Shopping:
A complete range of supermarkets, news, leather, fashion, perfume, photographic, butcher and bakers shops etc, plus banks. Much larger selection in nearby Ibiza town.

Beach:
A series of narrow beaches (some partly man-made) interspersed with rocky outcrops. Generally rather poor quality sand.

Entertainments:
Daytime: visits to historic Ibiza town with archaeological museum, 13th-century cathedral, 16th-century church, Roman and earlier remains, and Sa Penya old fishermen's quarter. Water sports and pedalloes, multisports courts. Aguamar water park and Club Fiestaland at Playa d'en Bossa. Nightlife: discos plus hotel entertainment and music bars, but much more in Ibiza town including casino with live shows.

Eating:
Many bona fide restaurants including 2 Chinese, dozens of bars, snack bars, pizzerias and fast food establishments. Typical Spanish menus including locally caught fish predominate.

Public-transport:
Bus service every 20 minutes to Ibiza town and Playa d'en Bossa. Large taxi rank in resort centre.
