Description:
A pastoral landscape meets the Mediterranean at a sandy beach with a car park and a few buildings. That is Cala Mondrago, and likely to remain so, as there is currently a ban on further development here.

Suitability:
Seekers of peace and quiet, mainly of independent nature.

Accommodation:
Small, privately run hotels. Holiday village on small road to Porto Petro.

Shopping:
None, other than a beach gift shop.

Beach:
A lovely, sandy one, over 200 yds. wide, between rocky, pine-clad flanks. Tends to fill up with visitors from other resorts.

Eating in.

Public-transport:
Alternating bus/train, hourly, to Cala d'Or via Porto Petro. Palma bus from the latter.
