Position:

Description:

A large natural harbour, extended inland. Small fishing boats predominate, and make a picturesque scene against the backdrop of the older houses of the village. Pleasure craft are accommodated at the nautical club. The access roads are rather tortuous.

Suitability:

Anyone looking for a quiet Mediterranean retreat, not too remote, should like it here.

Accommodation:

A couple of small, family-run concerns. Two large holiday villages nearby; one of them _ Club Med _ on the fringes of the village.

Shopping:

Basic needs only.

Beach:

Small sandy beach, 400 yds. from village; otherwise Cala d'Or or Cala Mondrago, almost equidistant.

Entertainments:

Daytime: one, other than watching the boats bobbing in the harbour.

Eating:

Half a dozen possibilities for sampling local fare on the waterfront.

Public-transport:

Bus and "Tourist Train" alternate; run hourly between Cala d'Or, Cala Mondrago, stopping here. 3 buses leave for Palma each day.
