Position:

In a composite resort that includes the lighthouse at Cap d'Artrutx, the residential area Tamarinda and the beach resort Son Xoriguer.

Description:

A modern creation, extending over several square miles of flat coastal land. Rimmed by a shoreline of jagged rocks, it is punctuated along the S-facing coastline by several coves and an inlet to an artificial lake that serves as a marina for small boats and the focal point of the extensive resort.

Suitability:

A fairly quiet, middle-of-the-road resort, catering best to older couples and families not requiring a large number of activities and diversions.

Accommodation:

Mainly apartments with some hotels, predominantly in the middle category.

Shopping:

Several empty units among typical resort shops, supermarkets and souvenir/beach stores.

Beach:

Two coves with fine, light sand mixed with pebbles are deep rather than wide and small for the number of visitors.

Entertainments:

Daytime: sea and beach with scuba diving, boat rental and water sports. Nightlife: no disco, a few lively bars and karaoke. Most entertainments are limited to the hotels.

Eating:

Fast food and touristy restaurants scattered throughout, with a concentration of good fish restaurants and options serving local cuisine around the lake.

Hourly bus to Ciudadela; tourist "train" serves the byways of the resort.
