Position:
Flat coastal scrubland descending gently to bay. Faces small offshore island of Isla del Aire.

Description:
One of older resorts, with consequently a shade more character and variety. Some barrel-vaulted fishermen's shelters survive at the back of the beach, though mainly used for convenience of holidaymakers.

Suitability:
Wide appeal to beach lovers, and for proximity to airport and capital.

Accommodation:
Apartments and hotels in the mid and budget categories. Privately owned villas.

Shopping:
Holiday requisites, including supermarkets and car hire, readily available.

Beach:
Quite large, of excellent fine, white sand. Gets crowded in summer.

Entertainments:
Daytime: some prehistoric and historic monuments in vicinity. Nightlife: several lively bars and a disco.

Eating:
Small but adequate choice of restaurants and tapas bars.

Public-transport:
Eight buses daily to Mahon.
