Position:
Facing E, backed by pine woods.

Description:
Pinewoods slope gently down to crescent shaped beach within circular bay facing two small islands about » mile offshore. The village is grouped around either end of the beach with hotels dominating the N end. There is a totally relaxed holiday atmosphere, this being the sole reason for the resort's existence.

Suitability:
Middle to economy market, ideal for families or couples, somewhat too quiet for singles.

Accommodation:
Predominance of 2-star hotels. There are only three with 3 stars and none with more than 3. As regards apartments _ those with one Key rating are in the majority.

Shopping:
At least 10 supermarkets plus a wide selection of newsagents, souvenir, fashion, sports goods, leather, and beachwear, chemist. Much larger selection in Santa Eulalia 3 miles away.

Beach:
The resort beach gained the EC Blue Flag classification in 1991 for cleanliness and for purity of water. Very safe for children. There is one lesser beach _ Cala Nova _ within 600 yds. but most visitors would prefer the main beach which is surrounded by amenities.

Entertainments:
Daytime: water sports including water-skiing, pedalloes, jet-ski, minigolf, tennis, country walks, boat trips. Nightlife: limited mainly to hotel discos and local music bars.

Eating:
At least 25 restaurants of various kinds including Chinese, but mainly downmarket _ eggs, beans, chips and hamburger types. No gourmet restaurants, some "tapas" bars but none outstanding.

Public-transport:
Bus service to Santa Eulalia 19 times daily (less at weekends). Taxi rank in village centre next to bus stop.
