Facing E, on flat land covered by pine woods, ­ ml off main Santa Eulalia to Es Cana road.

Description:
A slowly expanding country area which started from two hotels _ Sol and Augusta _ built over 20 years ago. Bars, restaurants and apartment blocks have followed the initial development.

Suitability:
Middlemarket, with British and German families the predominant clients. Far too quiet for singles and young couples; teenagers certainly won't thank you for choosing this resort _ there is very limited entertainment.

Accommodation:
3-star hotels and simple self-catering accommodation.

Shopping:
Two supermarkets only in immediate area but wide selection of shops in Santa Eulalia.

Beach:
Small natural sandy beaches in front of the hotels, which accounts for their positioning in the first place. Beaches backed by pine trees giving necessary shade.

Entertainments:
Daytime: water sports including parascending, otherwise limited to hotel-provided entertainments. Nightlife: virtually none outside hotels, just bar music, but more activity in Santa Eulalia.

Eating:
Very few bars and restaurants in the immediate area, all downmarket Spanish types.

Public-transport:
Bus stop on main road (­ mile). Taxis from Es Cana or Santa Eulalia can be called by phone.
