Position:
A little beyond Kremasti on the far side of the airport, Tholos is quieter than other resorts.

Description:
Most of the accommodation lies within » mile from the resort of Tholos; shops, bars and restaurants as well as hotels and apartments line the main road along the coast. The nearby village of Theologos is a traditional Greek village built inland up a steep hill; surprisingly untouched by the commercialisation of the coastal areas.

Suitability:
The resort caters for independent travellers and families who are happy to spend their time around the hotel. Its isolated location and lack of nightlife makes the resort less than ideal for young holidaymakers.

Accommodation:
All types of accommodation; ranges from a handful of larger hotels to small family-run apartment blocks.

Shopping:
Mainly souvenir shops; better to head for Rhodes Town on the regular shuttle service.

Beach:
Only one beach of sand and pebbles which runs the length of the resort. A range of water sports available. The NW coast is the windiest area in Rhodes, so popular with windsurfers.

Entertainments:
Daytime: only the beach. Nightlife: small selection of bars and one disco.

Eating:
Limited choice of small tavernas and fast-food bars.

Public-transport:
Bus service to Rhodes Town. Very few taxis available.
