Position:
Set around sandy beach, backed by hills.

Description:
Tourism development here is in its infancy; Pefkos and its neighbour Lardos are still very typical Greek villages, rather isolated and with limited amenities.

Suitability:
Caters for the independent traveller, particularly budget and middle range, looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. Car hire is highly recommended.

Accommodation:
Mainly apartments with a few family-run hotels.

Shopping:
Several supermarkets and a handful of souvenir shops. Butcher's and bakery in Lardos. Otherwise, nearest shopping area is Lindos.

Beach:
Main Pefkos Beach is sandy with sunbeds, sun umbrellas and water sports. At the far end is a nudist beach. Lardos Beach has similar amenities but coarser sand.

Entertainments:
Daytime: with hire car, a good base for exploring the unspoilt S of the island and nearby picturesque village of Lindos. Nightlife: a small selection of bars and one disco.

Eating:
Choice of tavernas offering Greek menu, also international and a Chinese restaurant.

Public-transport:
Regular bus service to Lindos and Rhodes Town. Few taxis in the area.
