Wherever you stay in Lassi you are not far away from a beach, most of which surround small coves. The two main beaches are described by their names: Makris Yialos _ long sandy beach; Platis Yialos _ wide sandy beach. The sand shelves gently into clear, clean water, providing safe bathing for children. Sun umbrellas and sunbeds are for hire, and drinks and snacks are available. Everything from aquabananas to paragliding is available for water sports enthusiasts.

Entertainments:

Daytime: definitely beach life and water sports. Nightlife: centred around the restaurants and hotel bars. One soundproofed disco at the hotel Mediterranee. For bars and other discos a taxi ride into Argostoli is the best bet.

Eating places range from original ethnic tavernas to upmarket restaurants, spread along the length of Lassi resort and along the Fanari road into Argostoli.

Public-transport:

An unreliable bus service links the main beach areas with Argostoli and the rest of the Fanari peninsula. Taxis are cheap and plentiful except in Fanari where they must be ordered from Argostoli.
