Description:
The tiny inland village of Svoronata lies right on the international flight path but despite this it is surprisingly peaceful and scenically outstanding.

A local fruit farm with wine-tasting where local produce can be purchased, and a couple of minimarkets.
Beach:
The sandy beach of Avithos lies one mile S of the village and remains uncrowded throughout the year.
Entertainments:
Daytime: walkers will enjoy discovering the other villages in the area: after the '53 earthquake Koukoumelata was completely rebuilt in lavish style by a wealthy shipping tycoon and is one of the most attractive villages on the island; Metaxata is where Lord Byron chose to stay in 1823. Aghios Andreas monastery has a little local museum and relics of the saint. Nightlife: centred around eating out at the local tavernas.
