On the W side of Kassandra peninsula, reached by a 5-mile branch road off main coast road. 53 miles SE of Thessaloniki, 48 SE of its airport by generally good, fast road.

Position:

Flat land between 2 headlands, one grassy and narrow, the other broad and wooded.

Description:

Bay with some private villas on the S headland, marina near centre of flat bay, flat open countryside and woodland but little else. Site of ancient Sani, it is an ecologically protected area with abundant wildlife. Nearest village is Nea Fokea at 6 miles, with local shops and half-a-dozen tavernas.

Suitability:

For club-style holiday with little or nothing doing outside the hotel gate.

Accommodation:

Handful of hotels listed plus a campsite.

Shopping:

In hotels and marina. Need to travel for any sort of choice.

Beach:

Well provided, with long stretches of clean light sand either side of marina channel and on N side of headland.

Entertainments:

Provided exclusively by hotels.

Eating:

Involves journey of at least 6 miles.

Public-transport:

None. Hotels provide shuttle 5 times daily to nearer villages.
