NISSAKI
Area: Corfu
Country: Greece

Location:

On the NE coast facing Albania, 14 miles N of Corfu Town and airport.

Telephone code from UK:

30 26630

Position:

Clinging precariously to steep mountainside, strung along a stretch of road skirting the mountain with the beach below.

Description:

Next village on from Barbati; both are a few miles from Ipsos yet almost in another world. Here the atmosphere is more refined and insulated from noisier resorts by mountains and cliffs. Essentially a small fishing village offering facilities to tourists, but with no focal point such as a village square. It is a ribbon development along a winding road which is not particularly busy but can be hazardous due to blind bends and lack of pavements. It has remained unspoiled by the daily influx of visitors, many of whom arrive for the day by boat.

Suitability:

A more upmarket resort suitable for families and couples.

Accommodation:

Private villas and better class hotels.

Shopping:

Basic necessities.

Beach:

Small but in a lovely situation. Shingle with restaurant on jetty. Several small coves.

A small clutch of tavernas and bars.
