Position:

On the other side of the headland and 1» miles from Aghios Stefanos, facing the Ionian sea. At the end of the tourist road.

Description:

A small holiday village, more compact and charming than neighbouring Aghios Stefanos, though not by much. It comprises a single road with a T-junction at the beach, with small branches right and left offering a fine vista of the broad beach and bay. A further narrow lane with shops, bars and accommodation runs inland into countryside with small farms.

Suitability:

Couples and families for a quiet beach holiday.

Accommodation:

Small hotels and self-catering apartments. Many of the apartments are spread along the pleasant valley leading inland.

Shopping:

A few minimarkets and beach supplies.

Beach:

A narrow, 200-yard strip of sand with some shingle, separated from pebbly Afionas Beach by a small stream. Outlook framed by picturesque headlands. Limited water sports on offer; it can be rough when a W wind blows.

Entertainments:

A disco; music in tavernas; options are restricted.

Tavernas.

One bus to Corfu Town: several more from Aghios Stefanos, which is within walking distance for most.
