A twin resort with Ipsos, a mile to the N. It lies on both sides of the broad and busy main road, with much of the accommodation in the small roads leading towards the beach. Campsite, rooms, studios, hotels. Somewhat unusually for Corfu, there is a preponderance of larger holiday hotels, rather like the Spanish costas.

Caters for local needs, with many beach shops, minimarkets, leather and jewellery shops; otherwise visit Corfu Town.
Beach:
A long but very narrow stretch of gently sloping shingle and pebble backed by olive and pine trees. Flat aquamarine water, ideal for water-skiing and well-equipped for water sports; swimming platforms.
Entertainments:
Daytime: all water sports; parascending, water-skiing, pedalloes, banana boats and boat hire. Evening: many bars, two discos and Greek dancing in many of the thatched tavernas provide variety.
Eating:
Tavernas, snack bars, pizzerias, casual and mainly inexpensive beach bars and restaurants.
Public-transport:
Very good bus service to Corfu Town; the "blue bus" runs half-hourly. Dassia is on the "green bus" long-distance route from Corfu to Kassiopi _ about 8 services daily.
Local-excursions:
Variety of excursions including Greek village trip; boat trips to Paxos, mainland Greece and Albania; and mountain bike trips to Paleokastritsa and Corfoit countryside. Also see Corfu Town.
